HONOLULU – The Hawaii Dental Association has announced the installment of Lynn K. Fujimoto, DMD as its new president. As president, Dr. Fujimoto will preside over the association’s upcoming dental convention to be held January 15-16, 2015 at the Hawaii Convention Center.
Dr. Fujimoto is a practicing pediatric dentist since July 1981 and currently the Associate Director of the Hawaii Lutheran Medical Center’s Pediatric Dentistry Program. She is a graduate of St. Andrew’s Priory in Honolulu and received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from the Washington University in St. Louis Missouri, and her Doctorate of Dental Medicine degree from the Washington University School of Dental Medicine. She also received her pediatric dentistry postgraduate certification from the University of California Los Angeles School of Dentistry. Dr. Fujimoto succeeds Immediate Past President Lili Horton, DMD, MS.
“I am humbly honored to serve my fellow dentist professionals at the Hawaii Dental Association as we work together in collaboration with the new Ige Administration, state and county elected officials, and the greater community at large to provide continual quality dental care throughout our state,” said Dr. Lynn Fujimoto. “I believe that the Hawaii Dental Association which includes 91 percent of all Hawaii’s dentists truly represents the collective voice of our state’s dentistry medical profession.
“I am also proud to present this year’s Hawaii Dental Association Convention, the largest professional dental meeting in the Pacific where our members and dentists from outside Hawaii meet to learn new techniques, and improve their skills by taking continuing education courses and shop in a huge exhibit hall that is full of vendors showing off the latest in dental technology, products and services,” said Dr. Fujimoto.
Dr. Fujimoto is an active dentistry professional and also serves as president of the Hawaii Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. She was the Hawaii State Team Leader for the Office of Head Start American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry Initiative and past president of the Western Society of Pediatric Dentistry. She is a member of a number of professional organizations that include the American Dental Association, Association of American Women Dentists, Academy of Dentistry for the Handicapped, Western Society of Pediatric Dentistry, Delta Sigma Delta Fraternity and Southshore Dental Society.
