The primary training site will be the University of Florida College of Dentistry. Secondary training sites include community health centers, local health departments that are affiliated with the College of Dentistry, and other community-based sites that can provide practical experience for the DPH resident.
The College of Dentistry has excellent DPH resources in the Department of Community Dentistry and Behavioral Science and beyond. Faculty available to the program include Dr Scott Tomar (Diplomate, ABDPH), Dr Frank Catalanotto (Department Chair) and numerous other faculty who provide didactic content to dental students and will be available to support the DPH residents in their coursework and DPH projects.
Residents will spend approximately 50% of their time at the College of Dentistry and 50% of their time at community sites. Additional community site selection will be determined at the start of the resident’s training program, taking into account the nature of the resident’s research project and the resources available at the community site.
